Hi. Can you help me in finding where my grandmother is from? Her name Virginia Rapozo(a), Born 17 March 1888, she pass November 1966. I try to get her birth certificate but no luck. She married a few times I think a Johnson and John Axel Baker (my grandfather) who die in 1936, and John Andrade. Some say she born in Kona, some say in Portugua, i know she speak portuguese. can you point me in the right direction. I doing a family tree for my kids. Thank you. Stella Dias-Calio
Hi Stella,
Before you can order a birth record from the Azores, you will need to know what village she is from. You mentioned that she died in November 1966. Do you know where she died? Your best bet is to find her obituary and/or death certificate.
If these don’t provide the birth place, you should try to research her siblings. Often you’ll find more details in another relative’s records.
Hope this helps!
